What Your Body Is Trying to Tell You About Weight Gain, Fatigue, and Pain
Your body is not trying to work against you.
It’s trying to get your attention.
Weight gain. Fatigue. Aches and pains. The feeling that no matter how much you push, you still can’t quite get ahead.
Most people are taught to treat those signals like problems to fix.
But what if they’re clues?
What if your body has been trying to show you a pattern all along?
A few weeks ago, I introduced my three archetypes: The Caregiver, The Chronic Starter, and The Self-Leader.
They’re not labels.
They’re patterns.
And patterns always leave clues.
Not just in the way we think, but in the way we live.
Why Your Body Feels Like the Problem
At some point your body stops feeling like home and starts feeling like a project.
Something to fix. Something to push. Something you’re always trying to get ahead of.
But what if it isn’t failing you?
What if it’s been carrying the truth of what you’ve been living?
If your body has been feeling like a problem, the Self Trust Shift Assessment can help you see the pattern behind it — and what needs to shift next.
The Caregiver: When You’re Last on Your Own List
The Caregiver doesn’t wake up one day and decide to stop taking care of herself.
It happens slowly.
She makes sure everyone else is okay. She grabs whatever food is available because she’s too busy to make herself lunch. She tells herself she’ll exercise later. Then later comes, and she has nothing left.
By the end of the day, she’s wondering why she feels so drained.
And her body starts whispering:
Poor sleep. Afternoon crashes. Stress that never really leaves. Aches that don’t go away.
Not because she’s failing.
Because her body has been carrying the weight of the pattern she’s been living.
One of my clients — let’s call her Suzy — came to me wanting more energy.
She was focused on her health, not weight loss.
She wanted enough energy left after work to enjoy her life.
She had never lifted weights before. Exercise wasn’t really part of her routine. Life was throwing challenges at her. Work was stressful. Family was stressful.
And like so many women, she had quietly become last on her own list.
How We Changed Her Relationship With Her Body
Life got pretty intense for her, so we had a conversation about what different days required.
Together, we came up with a simple color system:
Green. Yellow. Red.
On a red day, there was no pressure. She might MELT. She might meditate. She might simply breathe.
On yellow days, she moved in whatever way felt supportive. On green days, she did more.
That small shift changed everything.
She started noticing that sometimes a strength workout could move her from red to yellow. Sometimes a walk could do the same.
Over time, her red days became shorter. Then lighter. Then less overwhelming.
She wasn’t becoming more disciplined.
She was becoming someone who listened to her body instead of fighting it.
And yes, she lost over 30 pounds.
But the bigger transformation was this:
She trusted herself again.
The Chronic Starter: Why You Keep Starting Over
The Chronic Starter looks different.
She’s read the books. Saved the posts. Bought the supplements. Started Monday more times than she can count.
She’s not lacking motivation.
She’s exhausted from beginning again.
She does well for a while. Then work gets busy. Someone gets sick. Travel happens. Life happens.
She misses a few days.
And suddenly she’s convinced she failed again.
One of my clients — let’s call her Annie — felt disconnected from her body.
She wanted to feel confident in clothes she loved. She wanted to feel connected to her core. She wanted her feet and hips to stop hurting. She wanted enough energy to keep up with her family.
Most of all, she wanted to stop feeling like she was always beginning again.
She would’ve never said she didn’t matter.
But when we looked at her calendar, everyone else had a place on it.
She didn’t.
That’s what subconscious patterns look like.
They don’t always sound like beliefs.
They sound like: “I’ll do it tomorrow.” “I don’t have time.” “I’ll get back to it after things settle down.”
What Changed for Her
We didn’t overhaul her life.
We started with breakfast.
One meal.
That was enough for her to start noticing more stable energy.
From there, we worked with old beliefs she’d carried for years and used simple tools to calm her nervous system. We used MELT and MELT Neurostrength to hydrate her fascia and help her connect to her core and stabilize her hips.
Within weeks, the pain in her feet and hips was gone.
One of my favorite messages she sent me said:
“I loved the tapping script! Also... I’m tucking my shirt in today and I need a smaller bra size. Things are changing!”
Not because she had followed another perfect plan.
Because she began changing the pattern underneath it.
The Self-Leader: How to Stop Starting Over
The Self-Leader isn’t perfect.
She still has stressful days. She still enjoys dessert on vacation. She still misses workouts sometimes.
The difference is, she doesn’t turn those moments into proof that she failed.
She knows how to come back.
She trusts herself.
She packs nourishing snacks for the trip. She enjoys the gelato. She hikes the mountain trails. And when she comes home, she simply returns to caring for herself.
No guilt. No punishment. No starting over.
She isn’t finished becoming healthier.
She’s become a woman who naturally takes care of herself.
How to Recognize the Pattern Your Body Has Been Showing You
Suzy wasn’t a Self-Leader. Neither was Annie.
They became one.
Not by becoming different women.
But by uncovering the woman who had been there underneath the old patterns all along.
That’s why I created the Self Trust Shift Assessment.
Not to put you in a box.
But to help you recognize the pattern your body has been trying to show you.
Because awareness is where change begins.
And once you can see the pattern, you can stop treating your body like the enemy.
You can start leading yourself again.
If you’re ready to stop guessing and start seeing the pattern clearly,
